"cervine.online" is a webpage I built to serve as an 'identity index' - something between a portfolio, a personal website, and an online joke. It's also one of my favorite personal design projects.
From the start, I wanted the site to include a chaotic variety of visual styles in order to encapsulate more parts of who I am and what I do.
For the current version of cervine.online, I pushed the original concepts in the direction of hyperrealism and maximalism. I wanted the site to feel like stickers and array of physical objects - mixed with layers of references to modern web design. Towards this goal, I followed some specific stylistic constraints:
One of my favorite details is the fake tech support chat bubble I made to hide the music player in (on large screens only).
All of the photographic elements are photos I took of real objects, and the wall is the side of my apartment.
I'm sure the Home Depot employees thought it was very normal that I wanted to buy like 6 inches of chain to make a cool background for the "Links" section.
