This infographic/presentation slide is designed to convey challenges UMass Amherst Information Technology faced and has overcome during the network modernization project - as well as future plans to continue improvements now that initial goals have been met.
This was a really interesting design project, because usually when I think about building an infographic I think of numbers. In this case, there were almost no numbers which were ready to be shared publicly - and the most important information is conceptual rather than numeric.
Thus, the goal of the infographic was to visually describe concepts like streamlining and simplifying the network structure, and how improved strategic network design could improve network coverage.
I'm very happy with how this infographic turned out, although I do think it’s a bit text-heavy, especially for use as a presentation slide. This final result feels more like a museum display than a glanceable graphic.
